The Spanish Honor Society was founded by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese in 1953, for the students of North American secondary schools; and this chapter is due to the efforts of Albuquerque High School, as we grow this chapter in its second year.
Our motto is: "All together." Our colors are: red and gold. Our insignia and seal are those of the mother association.
The name of this chapter is: Barelas, in honor of the oldest neighborhood in Albuquerque, its rich history, culture, and language that surrounds our school.
Esta Sociedad Hispana de Honor fue fundada por la Asociación Americana de Maestros de Español y Portugués en 1953, para los estudiantes de escuelas secundarias norteamericanas; y este capítulo se debe a los esfuerzos de nuestra escuela Albuquerque High School, para crecer en nuestro segundo año en la escuela.
Nuestro lema es: "Todos juntos". Nuestros colores son: rojo y dorado. Nuestras insignias y sello son los de la asociación madre.
El nombre de este capítulo es: Barelas, en honor del barrio más antiguo de Albuquerque, ya que posee una rica historia, cultura y su propio lenguaje hispano que rodea a nuestra escuela.
