Steps to Apply for FAFSA
If you require FAFSA assistance please look at these FAFSA-related steps for Class of 2023 graduates.
- The Student and parent will need to obtain an FSA ID # you can do this at FAFSA's Account Creation page.
- You can start to fill out the FAFSA application for 2023-2024 year.
If you need assistance, the New Mexico Educational Assistance Foundation (NMEAF) has additional information on their website on support and you can set up a virtual appointment by emailing: outreach@nmeaf.org . The University of New Mexico also offers FAFSA workshops and support to any student regardless of their college choice on theUNM FAFSA page.
In addition to the FAFSA form, many private colleges and universities require students to complete the College Board's financial aid profile in order to determine how much financial aid and scholarship assistance the student will need.

Special Circumstances
For students who are homeless, you will need to contact the APS Title 1 Homeless Project. (505-256-8239 ext. 46902) For students who are undocumented, you will need to contact Armando Bustamante who works with El Centro de la Raza at the University of New Mexico. (505-277-5020)
