The 2017 Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards is now open!

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2017 Youth Awards. Educational grants are available for students who are part of the graduating class of 2018. Recipients will be selected for their accomplishments in the classroom, community, and for their focus in various educational categories. Categories include:

  • Business & Entrepreneurship
  • Community Service
  • Education
  • Healthcare & Science
  • Media & Entertainment
  • Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics (STEM)

These will be awarded in 10 regional ceremonies across the country in Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Phoenix, San Francisco/Bay Area, and Washington, DC.

Free Career Seminar For All Ages:
Pathways to a Professional Pilot Career

Next event: Las Vegas, April 22, 2017
Coming up: Denver, Seattle + more 

Future pilots of all ages including students in all grades, parents, school counselors, teachers, career changers and separating military personnel are invited to our Future Pilot Forum Saturday, April 22 from 1 PM - 6 PM in Las Vegas at the Tuscany Suites.

The forums offer future professional pilots a FREE educational day about pathways to professional pilot careers. The event will include a complimentary showing of the inspirational National Geographic documentary Living in the Age of Airplanes

California Aeronautical University will offer their Mobile Flight Experience, a bus with flight simulators on board beginning at 11AM. We will also give away a Boom Supersonic model to one lucky winner! (Must be registered and be present to win).

Students of all ages, parents, teachers, counselors, career changers and separating military personnel are invited to attend in person or may register to view portions of the event via on demand video later for free

Immersion Summer Programs

California College of the Arts is providing a summer opportunity for high school students from June 26-July 21, 2017.  Students interested in participating in a creative community, to meet with other serious and talented students and to get a taste of college life.

For women who are juniors interested in STEM programs, Havrey Mudd College will be hosting its 2nd annual Women's Introduction to Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (WISTEM) Program.  Information and application can be found at  Application deadline is Friday, January 20, 2017.


Undergraduate Health Sciences Enrichment Program

Program Dates:  June 5 - July 14

The Undergraduate Health Sciences Enrichment Program (UHSEP) is a 5 week academically rigorous residential program a the University of New Mexico (UNM) that provides an academic learning environment for  entering college freshmen who are interested in a career as a health care professional.  Te program will challenge students with a rigorous curriculum in academic, social and developmental support.

Deadline:  All completed applications must be submitted online, in person or post marked by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 20, 2016.  

Faxed applications will not be accepted.


Health Careers Academy

Program Dates:  June 5 - July 14

The Health Careers Academy (HCA) is an intense and rewarding 6 week, non-residential program held at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center in Albuquerque, NM for high school students who will be sophomores, juniors and seniors. The program is also designed to enhance math, science, language and critical thinking skills while exposing students to health  and science related professions. This program will challenge students by balancing a rigorous academic curriculum, ACT preparation, service learning and health science career exploration.

Deadline:  All completed applications must be submitted online, in person or post marked by 5:00 PM on Monday, March 20, 2016.

Quest Brige College Prep Scholars Program

This is a program for low-income juniors who are excelling academically.

Juniors who are in the top 5-10% of their class and earning mostly A's, whose family earns less than $65,000 annually (for a typical family of four) with minimal assets.


Students can be referred at and they will be sent informaiton about applying to The College Prep Scholars Program.
