The AHS Bilingual Education Program Mission Statement

Through Bilingual, Dual Language, and English Language Learning Programs, in collaboration with the AHS community, we will use innovative instructional strategies and data to increase student achievement and promote a bi-literate, multicultural community.

Program Goals

  1. Identify and place students according to accurate language level, using assessment results and/or via the Language Proficiency Acquisition Committee.
     
  2. Expand student enrollment in programming to increase number of students meeting requirements for Bilingual Seal.
     
  3. Involve parents in the implementation of the Bilingual Program and reach out to community to involve them in the educational process.
     
  4. Establish a pipeline for students throughout the AHS feeder system and throughout the Albuquerque School District for students to become students in the AHS Dual Language Enrichment Program.

La Misión del Programa de Educación Bilingüe de la Preparatoria Albuquerque High

A traves de los programas de educación bilingüe, lenguaje dual, desarrollo de lenguaje ingles (ELL) en colaboración con la comunidad de la escuela preparatoria Albuquerque High usaremos estrategias de instrucción novedosas y los datos para incrementar el rendimiento de los estudiantes y promover una comunidad multicultural e instruida en dos idiomas.

Metas del Programa

  1. Identificar y colocar correctamente a los estudiantes de acuerdo al nivel del lenguaje correcto, utilizando los resultados de la evaluación y/o a traves del Comité de Adquisición del Lenguaje.
     
  2. Ampliar la programación de la matrícula, para incrementar el número de estudiantes que cumplen el requisito del sello bilingüe.
     
  3. Involucrar a los padres en la implementación del programa bilingüe y llegar a la comunidad para que participen en proceso educativo.
     
  4. Establecer un conducto para  todos los estudiantes que alimenten el sistema de la AHS y en todo el Distrito Escolar de Albuquerque, y se conviertan en estudiantes del Programa de la AHS en dos idiomas.
